If there's one thing that the 2015Subaru XV Crosstrek was made for, it's exploration. Subaru models weren't built to sit in parking lots outside of an office building or catch a dent from your neighbor's teenage daughter's basketball.

At Heritage Subaru Catonsville, we want to see you get back out there, and we're eager to do whatever we can to make that happen. On top of providing Annapolis drivers with new Subaru models to help them buckle into adventure, we are proud to represent an automaker that has joined forces with lifestyle apparel company United By Blue (UBB) to undertake six major waterway cleanups over the next year.

In the fourth year of the partnership, Subaru of America and UBB aim to keep the oceans and rivers of the world trash-free. In fact, UBB has made a commitment to remove one pound of trash for each product sold throughout the duration of the campaign while the Subaru brand will act as the official vehicle driving the clean-up effort forward, providing vehicles to move both volunteers and supplies to cleanup sites throughout the country. Together, Subaru and UBB have set a goal of removing more than 250,000 pounds of trash from selected waterways.

As of today, UBB has organized 130 cleanup campaigns throughout 21 states, removing more than 243,843 pounds of trash in total from creeks, rivers, beaches and streams. Cleanup efforts began July 25 at the Patapsco River in Maryland and continued on to the following locations shortly thereafter:

·         Jordan River in Salt Lake City, Utah

·         Cuyahoga River in Cleveland, Ohio

·         Brandywine Creek in Kennett Square, Pa.

·         Cooper River in Camden, N.J.

·         Detroit, Mich.

The full cleanup campaign wraps up in May 2016.
