The Subaru Legacy has always been a vehicle that has stood out in the Subaru lineup. While Subaru is an automaker known for manufacturing off-road-focused wagons and small SUVs, the Subaru Legacy is a sedan that is just as comfortable traversing the wilds of Maryland as it is driving on the streets near Baltimore, MD. Here at Heritage Subaru Catonsville, we are proud to carry the 2017 Subaru Legacy, and we were thrilled to see a preview of the upcoming 2018 Subaru Legacy.

The first thing that you’ll notice about the redesigned 2018 Subaru Legacy will be its exterior. The front of the sedan features a wider hexagonal grille and wider, lower grille openings. In the rear, the automaker added a new tailpipe design into the lower fascia. You’ll also find daytime running LED lights and new C-shaped headlights and parking lights. To limit ride noise when you’re on the highway, Subaru added new sound-insulating inner film glass for the front side windows and made the rear wheel aprons thicker.

The 2018 Subaru Legacy will also receive significant powertrain upgrades. The continuously variable transmission available on 2.5-liter engines now uses an ultra-short pitch chain, which is quieter, limiting powertrain noise. The top available engine will be a 3.6-liter V6 engine good for 256 horsepower. Technology-wise, the center console will be redesigned with a standard 6.5-inch Starlink multimedia system and display, which is slightly larger than the screen in the previous model. An 8-inch screen will be available as well. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will come standard to provide you with smartphone connectivity to your car.
